Customize the Sender's Email Address Sender's Email Sender's Name Subject Appearance of the Notification Email Email header Email footer Content of the Notification Email

When an advisor responds to a message initiated by a customer in AlcmeonChat, an email notification is sent to the customer. This allows them to read the reply and return to the same AlcmeonChat widget to continue the conversation if needed.

Note: This notification will not be sent if the customer still has the AlcmeonChat interface open in their active browser tab or mobile app. In this case, it is assumed they are already viewing the conversation.

 

Customize the Sender's Email Address

To customize the appearance and sender information of the notification emails, go to your AlcmeonChat account page in Alcmeon. Then, scroll to the bottom of the page and find the "Reply Notification Email Customization" section. Here, you can edit various elements of the email, including header and footer colors, text, and logos.

Sender's Email

By default, the sender's email is no-reply@alcmeon.com. However, you can use any of your own email addresses hosted on your domain name. To do this, you will need to update the DNS for that domain. Please follow the procedure described here: https://developers.alcmeon.com/docs/outgoing-email

Sender's Name

You can set a default sender name in this interface. This information can be modified within each "Email Notification Request" scenario box. This is particularly useful if different branches of your scenario require a distinct sender name for the notification.

Subject

As with the sender name, you can optionally set a default message subject here. This subject can be changed within each "Email Notification Request" scenario box.

 

Appearance of the Notification Email

As above, within the "Customize the response notification email" section, you can modify several visual elements of the email that will be sent to your customers when an advisor responds to them.

Email header

  • Choose whether to show or hide the email header
  • Add an image that will be centered above the email content
    • Format: PNG, JPG, GIF
    • Size: 500x70px
    • Max. weight: 400KB
  • Use a color picker to customize the color of the dividing line between the header image and the email text.

Email footer

  • Choose whether to show or hide the email header
  • Add an image that will be left aligned below the email content
    • Format: PNG, JPG, GIF
    • Size: 120x60px
    • Max. weight: 400KB
  • Use a color picker to customize the color of the dividing line between the footer image and the email text
  • Define the text that will appear to the right of the logo. This text supports italic, bold, or both:
    • To add italicized text, surround the text with *
    • To add bold text, surround the text with **
    • To add italic and bold text, surround the text with ***

All options for setting the specific text content of your AlcmeonChat notification emails are configured when you edit the step in your bot scenario titled "Email notification request."
